Job Title: eKids Director

Direct Supervisor: Next Generation Pastor

Hours: Full-Time

Position Summary:

Expectation Church is looking for a Children’s Ministry Director to lead eKids (Birth – 5th Grade) by creating dynamic classroom and worship experiences, building and equipping volunteer teams, and partnering with parents to help kids experience faith in Christ.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead & Develop Children’s Ministry Strategy: Work closely with the NextGen Pastor to ensure a consistent strategy, vision, and direction for the Next Generation Ministries.
  • Parent Ministry: Partner with families to equip parents to lead and nurture their child’s faith at home. 
  • Spiritual Formation & Discipleship: Provide engaging, biblically sound teaching that fosters spiritual growth.
  • Volunteer Leadership & Development: Recruit, train, schedule, and care for volunteers, ensuring they are equipped to lead and serve with excellence. Provide ongoing coaching, appreciation, and leadership training.
  • Program Execution: Plan and execute weekly children’s worship experiences and age-appropriate programming. Ensure all supplies, curriculum, and environments are prepared and engaging.
  • Special Events: Plan and oversee volunteer, family, outreach, and seasonal events (Christmas, Easter, VBS).
  • Safe & Welcoming Environments: Ensure that all environments, procedures, and team members adhere to Expectation Church’s safety policies and procedures.
  • Communication: Provide clear and effective communication with staff, volunteers, parents, and children. 
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with staff to ensure a seamless ministry approach.
  • Budget & Resource Management: Oversee maintaining the children’s ministry budget and resources.
  • Personal & Professional Growth: Pursue professional development in collaboration with the NextGen Pastor.

Minimum Qualifications & Expectations:

  • Committed Christ-follower with strong character and alignment with Expectation Church’s mission and vision.
  • Passionate about discipling children and families, demonstrating a calling for children’s ministry.
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to recruit, train, and empower teams.
  • Experience in developing and implementing ministry strategies that align with the vision of the church.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with technology, office software, and children’s ministry tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in ministry, education, leadership, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in children’s ministry, with at least one year in a leadership role preferred.
  • Experience working in a large church or non-profit organization.

Working Hours & Conditions:

  • Full-time, primarily Sunday – Thursday with flexibility for events and special programs.
  • Occasional extra hours required for church-wide “all hands” events such as Christmas and Easter.
  • Work is primarily on-site, though some remote work may be possible.
